Pablo Garcia, a Guatemalan nephrologist who is completing a fellowship in transplants at Stanford University, says that our focus on ongoing, holistic care is one of the reasons he remains a dedicated partner with Maya Health.

He recalled helping a patient from rural Guatemala in need of a surgical procedure to not only find a surgeon who could treat him but also figure out how to get transportation to the hospital.

“In Guatemala’s medical system, little actions make a huge difference. So, you feel very fulfilled when you are able to provide your knowledge or your care to patients and family members.”
